History

Randy Smith Training Solutions (RSTS) has provided customised learning for multi-national companies working in the petroleum sector for over 20 years.  Initially focused on well control, the company soon expanded their curriculum to include other technical courses such as stuck pipe prevention, drill string failure prevention, training to reduce unscheduled events and drilling practices, primarily for the upstream (drilling and exploration) petroleum industry. 

Based on client demand, the company developed and began delivering leadership courses in the mid-90's.  RSTS initiated behaviour-based safety (BBS) training in 1998.  Leadership and BBS proved to be a strategic move for the company and now accounts for approximately 60% of the business.  It is important to note, unlike most other training providers offering off-the-shelf workshops open to the public; RSTS' team of curriculum designers develops a wide variety of training material to meet an individual client's specific objectives.
